Cavs Sweep Minot, 106-81

LAWTON, Okla. - In the perfect revenge against the only team to beat them this season the Lawton- Fort Sill Cavalry swept the Minot Skyrockets in a three game series. The Cavs won the final game of the series Saturday 106-81, the highest point total for the Cavs this season.

With less than four minutes to play the Cavs hit the triple digit mark and continued to play hard. In front of a season high 1,627 fans, the Cavs looked like they could beat anyone who comes to town.

The Cavs won all four quarters Saturday night for the first time this season. They were up 32-19 at the end of the first quarter and the entire team was playing smooth and exciting basketball.

The Cavs second string again came into the game as a unit early in the second quarter.

Cavs shooting guard Brandon Dean was on fire during the game, he put up a game high 23 points. In a change of pace for the Cavs, Dean also shot over 70% from behind the 3- point arc.

Two other Cavs were close behind him, Eddie Smith had 22 points and DeAnthony Bowden put up 21, to keep him in the hunt for the CBA scoring title. Bowden is currently sitting within striking distance of number one.

Rounding out the Cavs double digit scorers was Tim Ellis with 16 points. Ellis also pulled down 9 rebounds.

During the second quarter Cavs newcomer Albert White was ejected from the game for arguing with a Minot player.

The Cavs hit the road tomorrow for a two game series in Albany. The Cavs take on a revamped Patroons team Monday and Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action on Magic 95.
